PEBA – The Pro Environment Balloon Alliance

A Rainbow of Balloons is a proud member of PEBA – The Pro Environment Balloon Alliance. We are committed to following our best industry practices when dealing with balloons. But what does this really mean? Let’s dive a little bit deeper into what it means to be a member and what we stand for!

We can all agree that caring for our environment is everyone’s responsibility. I have joined PEBA and have taken their pledge to help educate further not only myself, but the general public about what our industry is doing to minimalise and reduce our impact on our planet.

Did you know that Latex Balloons are NOT Plastic?

Does it surprise you if I tell you this? Well, I am pleased to tell you that it’s true! It is a common misconception that latex balloons are plastic, however they are not. Yes, there are other types of balloons that are plastic (commonly known as bubbles) and foil/mylar – but like all products that we enjoy, proper use and disposal is key in mitigating our negative effects on the environment.

I choose to make conscious decisions with my business to reduce my impact on the environment. Part of my commitment is to help spread education and awareness on the correct way to dispose of balloons. Not only am I a citizen of this planet, I am a mother – and I want to help make the world a better place for them and other children of the future!

Litter is litter and although balloons are biodegradable we are responsible for how we choose to dispose of our balloons. Next time you have finished enjoying your balloon – please pin it and ensure that it’s disposed of thoughtfully. PEBA has lots of wonderful information, I invite you to visit their Facebook page to stay up to date with the information that they can provide.
